Community Garden

Grow fresh vegetables in a rented garden plot on the front lawn, and meet your neighbours.

The ESG community garden is currently made up of 11 raised bed rental plots . The vision behind the community garden is to use church land to draw closer to creation by offering opportunities to tend to plant life, while also drawing closer to one another as a community through the shared labour involved in gardening.

Rental plots are offered to the community at the cost of $75.00/gardening season, and renters have easy access to water to tend the plants.

For more information, contact Arlene Duncan at garden@esgunited.org.

Some comments from our gardeners:

I have to admit, that being a part of the ESG community garden has given me
such joy! This is my 3rd year participating, and I love it!

Barby Ginsberg

It has been lots of fun and especially enjoyable eating the veggies fresh from our garden.

With funding through Canada Summer Jobs, ESG employs four summer students to participate in the tending of the garden. Countless volunteers offering their wisdom and skills, as well as generous financial (TD Friends of the Enviornment Foundation, Faith & the Common Good) and in kind donations (The Scotts Company) have made this garden possible.
