We Are Not Alone: Recipe for a Miracle

During this time of isolation, we are sharing prayers, poems, inspirational music, videos and quotes that uplift our spirits in a special email newsletter each Tuesday. Here is an excerpt from our March 23 edition.

The Surprise: Recipe for a Miracle

Sermon Reflection by Heather Beamish, curator of our Lenten Series

“I am a multi racial person of colour and a Christian. I experience privilege and oppression because of my identity. I believe that every human being is an image bearer of heaven and is innately valuable and treasured. When I see human beings mistreated because of the colour of their skin, I am enraged and activated. My faith won’t let me be passive in moments of oppression. We have been invited into the ministry of reconciliation. We are a people who have been compelled by a fierce and glorious love. This is the type of work that Christ’s love compels us to do, this beautiful and unglamorous work. Racial equity flourishes when we remember that there has always been, and always will be, enough for everyone.

This work all started from a simple yes. Imagine the impact of your corporate ‘yes’ on your life and your family’s life, on your community, and your city. Longlasting societal change happens as our consistent conscious choices compound.”
