A Bit About Our Host, Loveleen

Meet Loveleen, our Cultural Kitchen Party host for Dec. 8th who is a mother of two with a passion for cooking.

Born in Chiswick, England, she moved to Saskatchewan with her Indian parents as a toddler. Eventually her parents settled in Moose Jaw, SK, where she was raised along with her three younger siblings. As one of only two Indian families initially living in Moose Jaw, her memories as a new Canadian trying to adapt are joyful, comical, and sometimes painful.

Loveleen has lived in several Canadian cities across Saskatchewan, Ontario and BC. For the last 20 years, she has been living in the U.S.: first in New York and now Seattle. She is drawn to cities with ethnically-diverse populations because she loves being exposed to different traditions, values, and ways of thinking.

She attributes her love of food to her upbringing where food was plentiful and always a labour of love. Through the years, and after many global travel adventures, she has honed her cooking craft and now happily puts her own stamp on some of her favourite childhood recipes.
