Join ESG United Church and Skylight Festival for our next Love aLIVE, an online dinner church series.
Love aLIVE is a coming together of people from all walks as we gather around our virtual table and share how love is alive in their lives. You’re invited to share your experiences too!
So, exactly what do we mean by that?
Well, for many, how love is alive in their lives is about nurturing relationships at a time of physical distancing, when many of us can feel isolated. For others, it’s about reconnecting with loved ones who they now get to spend more time with. Perhaps helping others is a way you choose to keep love alive. Keeping love alive is a deeply personal experience and sharing those experiences with others is truly an act of generosity. A shared meal is the perfect setting for conversations that feed us: body and soul.
ESG United Church and Skylight Festival invite you, your friends, and family to join us and special guest, Jeffery Straker. Jeffery is a singer-songwriter pianist who grew up taking piano lessons in small-town Saskatchewan. He actually swears he was born under the piano on the family farm, and since those ‘grand’ beginnings he’s gone on to perform over 100 shows per year across Canada, Europe and Latin America. The storytelling nature of his roots-folk songs has the power to transport a listener – out onto a lake in Canada’s North or to the main street of a prairie town. A clever lyricist with an energetic piano style his songwriting has drawn critical comparisons to the likes of Harry Chapin, Kris Kristofferson & Billy Joel.
Jeffery has just released his brand new ten-song recording “Just Before Sunrise” (May 2021) and performed over 50 summer concerts with his “Pandemic Piano Backyard Tour”.

Everyone is welcome, kids included. We’ll have a break-out room for them to share in their own guided activities. If parents and kids want to engage in the evening, then it would be good to grab a second device so that kids can be on one and parents on the other.
Note about dinner:
We understand that not everyone eats at 5 pm EST. It is ok if you’re still preparing your meal while we gather or you want to eat later. The evening is intended to be casual while you feast, prepare or just be with us in this time of community and connection.
