Cultural Kitchen Party: Korean Food

May 19, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

This event takes its cue from Newfoundlanders’ famous kitchen parties (fun, casual, and personal) and gives them a cultural twist to help us understand different cultures from a first-hand perspective.

Be a part of a small group “cook-along and chat”, with a maximum of 14 participants. Cost per person is $20.

Prepare Spicy Pork Bulgogi.

Join our host Sharon via Zoom, as she leads us in cooking a Spicy Pork Bulgogi Korean dish. While preparing and enjoying the food, we’ll share in her personal experiences of Korean culture, and build our understanding of important Korean traditions that might influence our own lives. Sharon, along with a co-moderator on Zoom, will ensure the session is open and interactive, touching on food, religion, family, education – you name it! It’s a wonderful opportunity to ask questions you may have about Korean cuisine and culture, and everyday life coming from that perspective.

We think the intro and cooking will take the first 45 min, with eating and chatting for another 45 min.
