Some of the Outreach Partners who benefit from our Rummage Sale include Lake Scugog Camp who come to collect much needed toys, games, & clothing to support their wonderful summer program. Women’s clothing, shoes and accessories go to a number of groups like the Fred Victor Centre who work with women who are in challenging circumstances. New Circles provides free clothing to people with limited incomes, including new immigrants. Volunteers from the Volunteer Reading Program will find books to use in their programs with children who live in Thorncliffe Park and Lawrence Heights communities. Massey Centre will collect baby items for mothers in need. Volunteers from Friends of Dismas will collect various items to help people to furnish a place to live as they return to the community after being in the criminal justice system. Yonge Street Mission collects many items that we are able to donate to them to support their various programs. Romero House assists in re-settling refugees along with Bloor St. United’s Refugee Outreach and Korean United Church. Out of the Cold volunteers collect clothing for their local OOTC programs helping to keep those in need outfitted in seasonal clothing. Christian Resource Centre (CRC) collects items to help with the work they do around housing and food. CRC’s food programs and the work of the CRC Regent Park Community Food Centre are featured in a new video entitled “Beyond Food Banks”. To view, click here.
