Paul Halley
Paul Halley grew up in Ottawa. He was appointed Director of Music at New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine at the extraordinary age of 24. While there he was also principal keyboardist and composer for the New York Jazz ensemble, the Paul Winter Consort. He is a brilliant performer and improviser; as a composer, he writes music which crosses all boundaries and unites a wide variety of styles.
Theresa Thomason
Theresa is an extraordinary talent, equally at home in Jazz,
R & B, and Gospel styles. She boasts an enormous vocal range, superb
musicianship, and incredible rapport with her audiences. The colla-
boration of these two very different musicians is marked by the joy and
spontaneity evident on their stunning CD Sound Over All Waters.
The Quartet
A quartet of local stars completes the roster: Jane Bunnett, soprano
saxophone, Mark Kelso, drums; Roberto Occhipinti, electric bass; and
Jalidan Ruiz, world percussion. The Eglinton St. George’s United Church
Choir will back-up Halley and Thomason, directed by Peter Merrick.
