Community Programs

ESG is home to many community programs for children and adults. These programs are run by various organizations and individuals, rather than by the church. Please contact the program organizer directly for more information about fees and registration.

 

Fit Friends

This popular adult fitness class combines low impact cardio, interval training, muscle works, and stretch and flex excercise.  A safe, fun and welcoming environment for all levels of fitness.

Yoga and Meditation

Classes are suitable for all levels, and include breathwork, gentle movement with lots of stretching and some longer held restorative poses for immune building and healing. Both classes include a period of silent meditation to close the practice.

My Pop Choir

Axel Molema Yoga

Axel's Body Mind Soul Yoga has life changing benefits.Classes begin with the Sun Salutation, a series of movements designed to limber up the body. Following this warm-up, students are guided to learn and practise positions or postures, called Asanas. These postures improve flexibility, strength, co-ordination and balance. Often, these postures are held to benefit the organs and glands, and to slowly relax the muscles so they lengthen and strengthen properly. Deep breathing is encouraged during the postures to replenish tissues and eliminate tension and toxins. Some classes will include specific breathing exercises, called Pranayama. Breathing practice revitalizes, energizes and calms the mind. At the end of class, there is a period for deep relaxation which may include sitting meditation and visualization exercises while lying still.

Bridge Lessons with John Rayner

We will be spending the first 30 minutes each week doing some "Bidding Practice for Partnerships" and then "Supervised Play" for the rest of the lesson. We will be playing bridge hands in common and discussing all aspects of those deals: bidding, opening lead, declarer play and defender play. The emphasis will be on good bidding judgment and effective declarer play and common sense defense. You do not need a partner to attend. $30 per class

Sparks and Brownies

Girl Guides of Canada-Guides du Canada enables girls to be confident, resourceful and courageous, and to make a difference in the world. The 71st Sparks and 71st Brownie units meet every Monday providing an opportunity for 5 – 8 year old girls to grow and learn together. Registration is through the Girl Guides of Ontario website for the current year’s program which runs from September to May.
